Proposal/Contract Generator: Creating Templates

Modified on Tue, 7 Jan at 5:41 PM

Deskworks' Proposal/Contract Generator lets you create templates for proposals, contracts or any other agreements you might want to send to a client or prospective client with details of their plan. Set up your templates using {{short codes}}, and the template will auto-fill with the data from a Recurring Billing or your Inventory and Prices.

After templates are created, you can customize the information within the template for your client or potential client and save it within their account. You can then:

  •  Send it for signature from your digital signature program
  • Create a Recurring Billing directly from the proposal!

Creating and Editing Templates

  • Go to COMMUNICATIONS > TEMPLATES
  • Click the EDIT pencil next to one of the default templates or click ADD+ to create a new template
  • To ADD a new template:
    • Select a CATEGORY for your template. You can also create more categories using "edit categories." Categories help you organize your types of templates.
    • Add a NAME and DESCRIPTION to assist you in selecting the correct template in the future.
    • Within the body of the template form, you can cut and paste an existing document or work directly within the generator, adding images, links, tables, headings and font sizes.
    • Click "Charges" to add a pre-defined table that will fill from a Recurring Billing directly or allow you to add inventory items on the PROPOSALS page. If you do not need the DISCOUNT column, hover over DISCOUNT until you see the TABLE edit menu, and click the DELETE button for the column.
    • To add a short code anywhere on the page, leave a space and then begin typing {{, followed by a few letters of the short code you want to add. This will display a list of all available short codes that begin with those letters:

  • When the template is as you want it, click SAVE.
  • You can edit templates at any time.
